INDIA : A dream of doomed hopes....

63 years of building the largest democracy on planet .... and at the 64th Independence Day one wonders where is India .... What has India become in these 63 years .... Where do we stand right now ... ????
Thousands of Known and unknown souls gave their lives for this land .History books fill us with pride of stories of great Heroes and the tales of honour ,valour and self sacrifice . Singing the national anthem and hearing "Vande Mataram" echoes installs a deep sense of Nationalism in all of us .....
BUT is this really that India for which so many men embraced death ? Look at India today .. It is plagued by corruption in every single inch of it ... Indian Constitution is believed to be writen incorporating the best points from all other constituencies of the World .... It today looks like an wonderfull recipe of hell .... Poverty is ripping this nation apart .... every minute 5 children are dying in India because of Hunger ..... Poverty however has given rise to a new class of trade named "oppurtunism" .... Looking around we can see every man taking advantage of every single situation and you really cant blame them ....This country has ten crores of unemployed young men looking for a way to hold on to life . There is absolute no social security and Life in India is nothing short of War ..... the gulf between rich and poor grows deeper and deeper and the middle class men falls in the clutches of something known as "morality" which prevents them from being the bad guys but finds them in a situation worse than them ..... Humanity takes a back seat in India where the question of ethics is defined by money ......the situation is so worse that even a human womb is "rented" and its a prospering business in India .... The constitution of India has guaranteed freedom for every citizen . .. This however has given another weapon in the hand of Political parties like Shiv Sena and TMC who feel themselves to be free from the rule of law and do what ever they want ...... Maoism , the biggest threat of India are claiming civilian lives everyday .... A child of 8 years is made to write "Ami CPIM kori na" in front of her fathers dead body to be allowed to cremate it ....and poltical parties like TMC proudly opposes fighting the maoists .... Recently a mother sold her child for 30000 Rupees ....
Can we really blame her selling her child ? Can we ask for ethics from a person on the brink of death by starvation ? Thousands of the Maoists kill not by choice but by desperation ... Is killing to save ones life right ? Can we expect a person to follow the rules of society in face of such poverty ? Is an act considered as crime if its done for the right cause ? Whom do we blame for this situation ... The society ? India ? Whom do we punish for crimes done for a just cause ?
What has India become ??? or rather what is India going to become at this rate ???? The only image that comes to mind is an abondoned battlefield with scavengers desperately searching for food ..... Scavengers like Dow Chemicals who kill 25000 people in Bhopal and pay 500 rupees for Indian Life ...
Can this be changed ?? Can we , the so called "future of India" be different ?? Can we be pragmatic enough to start a new beginning ? Can we make a choice of being honest even if we are given a chance to be dishonest ? Can we not take the oppurtunity to profit in the name "Morality" ? If we cant..... only a abondoned battlefield of dead hopes that once freed India remain .....

LAW : A rare item sold in Indian politics ?????

December 3rd 1984 ..... Methyl Isocyanide leaking from the Union Carbide plant in Bhopal spreads affecting 500000 odd lives ..... One of the largest tragedies in India since Independence ...... Today is 13th of July 2010 ....and still Warren Anderson ..the chief convict of the case is free in America .........
The Indian constitution guarantees everyone in India a rule of Law ......However it does not guarantee Justice ...... The what is Indian Law for .. ?
A few days after the incident Warren Anderson the then CEO of Union Carbide was let off from India under the directives of the then Chief Minister Arjun singh .....
The CBI filed a chargesheet on the Union Carbide under section 304 culpable homicide ..... one decade after that Justice Ahmedi rules out culpable homicide and rules in Criminal negligence ..... Is this JUSTICE ...Can I bring a tiger in my room and one day when it escapes and kills people ..can I ever escape the responsibilty by saying it was not my intention ...... Doesnt the Chief Justice of India have this much of common sense ..... The joint Director of CBI says that he was silenced by the authority ...... The Union carbide limited has provided for far more safety rules in case of American plants ....
Which Law says that an American life costs more than a Indian one ??? How can Indian Politicians sworn to protect India for their great love for Indian People ....let Warren Anderson fly away from Bhopal ..... ?
Still now people are dying because of the after effects of poisoning .... Union Carbide has provided the compensation of 500 dollars for a life .....Can any amount of money bring back a person ......
Why did Justice Ahmedi changed the chargesheet ?? Was it becuase he is heading a trust funded by that very Union Carbide and Dow Chemicals ???
What is then Indian Law ...what Is Justice .....
Is its defination ruled by money and political power ???and its application changes as the financial power of the victim changes ?????????

Kasab .... "Fairness of Democracy"

26/11 A day that sends shivers down the spine of India ..... The economic of capital of India was torn apart in blood and tears as 10 young men waged war on it ..... For two days the nation held its breath as the last of the terrorists were eliminated .....
166 men killed .... 308 injured .... the pride of Mumbai-"The Taj" destroyed .....
Today is the 6th of May 2010 ... After one year and a half ... Ajmal Kasab the only living terrorist of the attacks is sentenced to Death for his brutal crimes ....
the people over India rejoice ... crackers are burnt in parts of Mumbai ...... Media channels host special shows ..... Home Minister Mr. P. Chidambaram christens this as the victory of Democracy ...... Minister of Foreign affairs talks about sending a strong message to Pakistan ...... Theres a sense of Victory in India .....
But what have we won ???
Amir Ajmal Kasab was caught in a CCTV shooting innocent people mercilessly , he himself confessed to kill 7 people on his own .. Two years have passed and look at him now .... He is getting more security than even the Prime Minister of this country ... Thousands of Media channels are dying to catch his glimpse ... A new tunnel has been built for his transport ..... nearly hundreds of crores have been on his security ...
In India , every minute 6 children are dying due to hunger...
Mayawati doesnt have the money to provide Education for all in UP....
60% of the population is enlisted as BPL .....
Whom are we kidding by saying that we have "WON"?
What have we done by giving a 2 year old trial to Ajmal Kasab ? Have we ensured Democracy ... and fairness of law ?? or Have we just told the world that Look you can come to India and just kill 166 people .. the video of your indiscrimminate shooting is caught in CCTV .... Yet the Indian Government will make you a media Luminary .... and let you live for four to five more years at their own cost ......
Even after his death sentence is announced he is going to have an Hernia opperation .... He is going to appeal in Supreme court , High Court and finally the President of India ..... Two more years of this tomfoolery going on ....
How far are we stretching the lines ?? At what cost is the fairness of Democracy justified .... Kasab was just a pawn ......There are thousands more of them waiting to strike .. and we just showed them how hospitable we can be under the cover of "fairness of Democracy" ... David Headley , the mastermind of the operation is not getting a Death Penalty by striking a deal with the US .....seven more are in trail in Pakistan ...
What have we won ??????

Kalboisakhi ........

Its been too long and a tiresome season ... With the freezing winter the long drawn Examination schedule commenced .... The chills of winter evaporated as the summer season recorded epic temperatures scorching the streets of Kolkata .... The April Sun was merciless ... All the effects of Gobal warming seemed concentrated on us ... Many hopeful weather forecasts melted away in vain ......
Today however was different ....... As the clouds turned day into night ... The first kalboisakhi lashed its pent up fury on the city of Joy .....
With roars of thunder and flashes of lightning accompanied by the fresh drops of rain the cyclone quenched the thirsty kolkata ..... The wounds slashed by the April Sun got its first taste of healing ...... The exhilarating smell of the wet earth ... The strong winds ripping the young buds of mango apart ...... It was like an illusion after a long drawn summer ...

..Little paper boats made their ways through the many meandering drains of kolkata and overflowed streets of kolkata serving as water parks for street children ... For once we were happy with the incapability of the corporation ....
After nearly two hours of squandering ....
With one last roar the storm calmed down ..... promising us of the many more on its way .....

Angel in Disguise ...

You see her face,
You see her eyes,
She’s an angel
In disguise.

You wonder what,
You wonder how,
You wonder why,
You let her slip by.

But now she’s gone,
You’re the fool,
You wonder why…
Life is so cruel.

You can’t escape
The love in your heart,
The painful thing…
Ripping you apart.

You hear her voice,
You smell her fragrance,
You wonder what if…
You had more patience.

You start to cry,
But it’s useless,
As everyone else…
Is just clueless.

You try to flee,
You try to hide,
Losing your friends…
And your pride.

You try to move on,
As she has done,
But any new love,
Does not last long.

You think of her,
You start to smile,
She may come back…
In a while.

You fall asleep,
And start to dream,
She fades away…
You want to scream.

You open your eyes,
She is still gone,
You ask yourself…
‘What went wrong?’

You try to think,
Your hearts on fire
She’s the one…
That you desire.

Your hands are empty,
Your hands are cold,
She’s not there…
For you to hold.

You never thought,
She would leave,
Your aching heart…
Can only grieve.

The love you felt
You could not measure,
Loving memories…
Your only treasure.

You’d move the Earth
You’d turn the tide,
Just to have her…
By your side

Time has past,
It’s been too long,
To be in her arms…
Where you belong.

Your hearts were connected
Your hearts were bound
The way in which love…
Could only have found.

You see her face,
You see her eyes,
She was your angel…
In Disguise.

The Illusion of Freedom .....

Since the last 200 years .. the idea of Freedom has inspired generations .... People have fought and given lives for it .... Freedom from oppression ... Freedom to live ... Freedom of Human rights .....
However ... this very idea of Freedom is still an illusion ..... Can we as Human beings be free ever ???? Can we just be freed from all our bindings ???
Every action that we take leaves us with a responsibility ...... Every little choice we make binds us more to our roots ..... Is their any man who lives life without regrets ..... Is there any man who can say that "I can die right now happily ??"
Sometimes I feel I am a coward to wish to be freed from everything .. relationships and responsibilities .... Probably I am one ... But still now I see a pollen grain performing brownian motion ... hoping myself to be one .... who can bounce in all directions yet still move .....
